Bleach Fan-fiction 20

The first person she met, after getting out of the courtyard, was Soi Fon.
"Captain Commander, ma'am. Are you alright?" she asked.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. That Sayuri was a tough little bugger. I enjoyed that fight."
"You enjoyed it ma'am?"
"Yes, because she was fighting for what I believed in and those fights are always the best. It becomes an internal battle as well as an external one when you try to figure out whether the ideals you are fighting for are better than theirs."
"Are you saying that it would have been much easier for you to kill her if she had been fighting just to kill everyone?"
"Oh, yes. If that had been the case, I would have killed her in seconds but each time I attacked there was something holding me back. That thing was my own morals," Aya explained. "Anyway, have you finished cleaning up the Hollows yet?"
"Yes ma'am. Everything has been resolved."
"Do you know where the other girl is?"
"Yes, we found her in a small building to the north. She's dead."
"Yeah, have her brought here and buried alongside her sister in their family plot. They deserve that much at lease."
"Yes, ma'am," Soi Fon said. "Do you need anything else?"
"Yes, please have all Captains gather here right now."
Soi Fon called all the Captains there with a Hell Butterflies and withing seconds they were all in front of her.
"You guys did great today. Since the current crisis is averted, I am no longer officially your Captain Commander. Until you people are ready to hold your elections or whatever you do, you will have to take care of yourself. Now I'm tired, so I'm going to sleep," Aya said and stumbled over to a nearby porch, where she lay down and was asleep in seconds. All the Captains stared at her.
"What just happened?" Captain Zaraki asked.
"She fell asleep. Should we wake her?" Captain Hitsugaya asked.
"No, let her sleep," Captain Unohana said. "That girl is truly amazing. She already passed out today, due to sever blood loss. Everything she just did was while she was very probably not at her strongest."
"Blood loss?" Captain Ukitake asked.
"Yes, I'd say that she lost four or five pints of blood before I could heal her. She awoke only minutes later because of the alarm and has been fighting in that state ever since. Not to mention, that cut that she received earlier must have cost her even more blood."
"If that is what she fights like when she is faint from blood, I dare not imagine how strong she is without it," Captain Kyoraku said. "She could very easily be as powerful as Old Man Yama was."
Captain Kuchiki walked forward and gently picked her up in his arms.
"I shall take her to her quarters at the 1st Squad barracks." He waited for anyone to object to his obvious pronouncement that she would be the next Captain Commander but no one did. He vanished as he flash-stepped her to the 1st Squad barracks.

Aya slept through the night and half-way into the next day. When she awoke, she found herself in the Captain Commander's room. She lay there for a few minutes digesting what that meant and decided that they just had no where else to put her. She got out of bed and blushed when she saw that she was no longer wearing her black kimono, but a white sleeping gown and her wounds had been healed. She wondered who had changed her. The day before she had been ready to pass out all throughout her battle and when she was finally able to relax, she forced herself to stay conscious long enough to make sure people knew what they were doing. Then she had laid down and allowed herself to faint from utter exhaustion. Now, she felt well rested for the first time in 1000 years. She walked out into the hallway and saw Chojiro standing there.
"Good morning, Captain Commander, Shihouin Aya. How was your sleep?" he asked.
"It was great. That bed's really comfortable and don't call me that. Someone else can be Captain Commander now that the crisis is over," Aya said.
"We have debated about this and have decided that until we actually hold votes you will play as acting Captain Commander so that we have someone in charge during that time."
Aya sighed.
"Are you all really that incapable of organizing yourselves?" she asked. "Whatever, I can do it I guess. Can I have some clothes?"
"Oh, yes. Right this way. We will have a meal ready by the time you are dressed. Is there anything in particular that you would like?"
"Not really. Get me anything."
For the next few days, Aya led the 13 Squads. They deliberated for quite a while as to who the next Captain Commander should be but in the end, it was Aya. Only three people did not vote for her. One was Zaraki Kenpachi, who voted for himself. Another was Kurotsuchi Mayuri, who also voted for himself, and the last was Soi Fon, who voted for Ukitake. Her arguement was that they did not know Shihouin Aya well enough and that they should wait a little longer, and while everyone agreed with this point, they also agreed that they couldn't wait much longer especially since the 3rd, 5th, and 9th Squads didn't have Captains. Aya protested a lot but in the end had no choice but accept the position. Aya worked her hardest to bring everything back into order, and in no time at all, she was actually able to pull everything that Aizen had destroyed back together.

So this is the end. I might write a sequel later, if I can find the inclination and inspiration to do so. I will also, periodically go through my stories and change things so if sometimes it's different, that's why.
