I know that this is my second posting in one day but I like to write and if the story keeps on flowing I see no reason to stop. I also like having separate sections of the story in separate posts so that they are easier to keep track of for me and possibly for anyone who decides to read this blog.
900 years ago, in Soul Society...
"I am officially calling off the search for previous Captain Shihouin Aya of the 2nd Squad. As it is I have let it run longer than I normally would have at the insistence of many people but we can no longer expect her to return. I am now pronouncing Shihouin Aya officially dead. Lieutenant Kaname Syaoran of the 2nd Squad has been promoted to Captain. That will be all."
"Captain Commander Yamamoto really did it this time."
"Yeah, I don't believe that Aya is dead. We should keep looking."
"Yeah, but where, we no longer have any leads. Even the leads to that guy have vanished. All we have is a picture of him."
"Then we'll find him and avenge Aya for whatever he did to her."
"Yeah."
At the same time in Aya's world...
It only took a couple of years after Aya's imprisonment for her to realize two very important things. The first was that there were many more Hollows than she had originally thought there were in that dimension. She suspected that she had not been the first thing that man had captured in that other world and she sorely hoped that she would not be the last because if the world opened again, she might be able to get out. She had patiently waited for a hundred years but had finally given up on the fact that the man would ever let her out. The second thing that she had realized was that this dimension did not have time. If there wasn't going to be light and dark or any sort of direction at all, then she supposed that not having time was also reasonable. It had dawned upon her relatively quickly. Nothing in her body changed. Despite at least 70 years passing since she had entered the world, she still looked like a small, fifteen year-old girl. She was actually more like 70 years old but as a rule Soul Reapers aged slower than humans. Another thing that demonstrated the lack of time was that she no longer needed to deal with her body. It was as if it were frozen in a permanent state of no change except what she forced on it. She did not need to eat, sleep, drink, go to the bathroom, or anything like that, which was a good thing because there was no food, or water in that parallel dimension. After fighting a few Hollows, she had realized that she no longer bled. Even if she got a cut, it would no longer bleed because her heart was no longer beating. Not only that, but she no longer needed to breathe. Once, she had tried holding her breath for a very long time and nothing had happened. She still breathed though, because it was habit. She was no longer quite as disconcerted about her surroundings but there will still times when she had to focus on something solid to keep from hyperventilating or passing out. Very often she would look at Shadow Walker and would say,
"I need to get out of here."
